Who I Am
About Me
My name’s Santos Ruiz, born and raised in Kansas City. I graduated from JC Harmon High School and briefly attended Ottawa University on a basketball scholarship. I found barbering during college out of necessity, bought clippers, cut my own hair, and the rest is history. That moment flipped everything for me. I’ve loved barbering since.
Fun Facts
I’m big into sports—played basketball and football—but now I spend a lot of time lifting and working on cars. I’m really into the automotive space—fixing up trucks and tuning them for looks and performance is my second passion after barbering.
Years of Experience
I’ve been cutting for about 2.5 years now. I started back in college, just giving out fades to teammates in a dorm room. Once I realized I had a feel for it—and people trusted me—I never looked back. Now I’m constantly improving, trying to level up every cut, every appointment, every time.
Training & Education
I went to Headlines Barber Academy and graduated there. They gave me the foundation I needed, but honestly, I learn something new every day, on the job, from other barbers, or just trial and error in the shop.

Right now you can find me at Get Right KC. I’m focused on building my brand and growing my skill set every week. I cut Tuesday through Saturday and take bookings online. My long-term goal? Own my own shop and build a strong legacy.
Why Barbering?
I used to always change up my hair with braids, curls, waves. That love for switching it up led me to try cutting in college. There weren’t any good barbers in Ottawa, so I got some clippers and taught myself. That’s when I knew this was for me.
Work & INspiration
Every client, whether new or familiar, brings me real joy when they sit in my chair. Just knowing they trust me with their look is everything. I’ve always loved transformations and helping people go from rough to sharp. It’s not just about the fade, it’s about the confidence they leave with. That’s the best part. I stay motivated by chasing that feeling, pushing myself to improve every cut, and making sure each person walks out looking and feeling better than when they came in.
FAQs
I’d say my style is mostly traditional, but if someone wants a fresh new look, I’ll get creative and give them something they didn’t even know they needed.
I’m known for mid drop fades and taper cuts—especially with curly hair on top. I like styles that let me blend clean lines with texture and volume up top.
I don’t have a signature service yet, but I’m grinding to level up. Always learning, always improving, and looking to offer more every step forward.
